Nestor Miranda Special Selection

Well the holiday season is upon us, I spent the entire day hanging lights on our parkway trees. There is nothing like braving the Chicago cold and working outside in blustery winds and hanging lights. After the job was complete, I headed to the garage to warm up. The sun was coming down so I pulled out a lawn chair and sat in my garage admiring the finished project. It was the perfect time to fire up a Nestor Miranda Special Selection robusto.

Nestor Miranda is the creator of the Don Lino line of cigars. He created this special blend that contains Nicaraguan and Costa Rican long fillers. It has a Nicaraguan binder and finished with a Nicaraguan Maduro wrapper. The robusto size smoke measures 5.5. x 54. It fired up easily and maintained an even burn all the way to the nub. The Nestor Miranda Special Selection had an effortless draw. It was a slow burning smoke that required no relighting. It held a two inch ash before it fell to the floor. The taste was wonderful as well. I first noticed leather followed by caramel and finishing with oak under tones. The robusto size stick comes in a box of 20 for $95. For less than five bucks a stick, these did not disappoint. If you have yet to fire up a Nestor Miranda Special Selection, you may want to give them a try. The only thing that could have made this smoke more enjoyable was a fire place. The garage became a little cold half way through the smoke. In any case, the Nestor Miranda Special Selection will not disappoint.

Nice review. I have never had a Nestor Miranda SS, but have seen them for sale online at several places. I might have to check them out.

I am new to the cigar world and recently created a cigar blog as a hobby. http://www.beezerscigarjournal.blogspot.com/

I look forward to reading more of your reviews. Have a great Thanksgiving!

Nice review. I have had a few of them and they are a very well constructed cigar and for me they have a leathery\ earthy taste. I have one more left in my humidor and as spring has just arrived in Minn., I am looking forward to having this on the deck with a cold one.
