Torano Exodus 1959
Tonight is one of my favorite nights of the year. Fantasy Football Draft Night, so I had to pick up a special cigar to accompany me this evening. As I was roaming through my local tobacco store, I noticed the section of Carlos Torano smokes. It has been awhile since I smoked a Carlos Torano product. The appearance of each series is a masterful display of color, marketing and packaging. Each series looked like a wonderful magazine ad. I decided to go with the Exodus 1959 Robusto to help me pick my Fantasy Football Team.
I went home to place the smoke in my humidor, but like a kid at Christmas, it looked so good that I could not wait for the draft. I had to fire it up. It had to be smoked immediately. The Exodus 1959 is a box pressed tribute to all the cigar makers who fled Cuba in 1959. It is made with a 5 country blend of tobacco from the Dominican, Mexico, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica. It is finished with a very dark Habano wrapper. It measures 5 x 52 and runs for about $84 for a box of 24. The taste was a bold dose of chocolate and gave me a great buzz. However, the construction was shotty and the draw was poor. I got a runner that would not correct itself. Also, the smoke went out a number of times. In the end, I was very disappointed.
The Carlos Torano is more packaging than substance. I am glad I fired it up prior to the draft because it would of ruined my night. Fortunately, I have time to run to the store and pick up another companion for tonight's event. Wish me luck!

Wow, I'm sorry to hear about your issues with this cigar. Typically I've had nothing but fantastic luck with this cigar.
